Star Wars, Episode IV : A New Hope. Volume 1-4. by Bruce Jones

Star Wars: Episode IV:: A New Hope: Vol. 1 (Star Wars Set II)
The four-part graphic novel series tells the story of the original Star Wars movie, which became Episode IV : A New Hope. Told via a comic format, the story hits the main events of the story, leaving out most of the subplot. The dialog is word for word of the script from what I could tell. I found the artwork to be appropriate, colorful, but not detailed.

I'd recommend this for reluctant readers or extreme Star Wars fanatics. Most won't appreciate the brevity of the story or the glossing over of the details. I'm generous in giving it a grade of 'C' to 'C-.'

A New Hope : The Life of Luke Skywalker by Ryder Windham

A New Hope: The Life of Luke SkywalkerJust like it says in the title, this book tells the story of the life of Luke Skywalker from his childhood on Tattoine to his participation in the rebellion against the Empire. Basically, it combines events shown or mentioned in the movies and puts them in novel form. This is a must-read for Star Wars fans, but probably of little to no interest for others. I give it a C.
